Opus Dei

I am in a quest for something... I can't put a finger on it. But God showed me this on EWTN twice.

I am intrigued with this conservative Catholic organization. I learned that the members offer their works to God for sanctification. I wonder if I will find belongingness here. I wonder if this is my new pathway to holiness. I have yet to spend more time in front of the Adoration. Should go back to Pauline's soon!

Aside from their priestly ministry in the Prelature, the priests of Opus Dei take care of chaplaincies of universities, schools, and student residences. They also do pastoral work for the local dioceses, like celebrating Mass in churches, hearing confessions and working in the diocesan area.

Thanksgiving

Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to hear the EWTN Mass today. Indeed, every Mass is thanksgiving and healing.

Thank You, Lord, for saving me from a monstrous jerk and a potential adulterer. Thank You for the gift of intuition. I wouldn't have peace of mind and heart if I ended up with a dork in a foreign land called Sodom and Gomorrah with no support system whatsoever. Some people never change no matter how much you pray for them because they will always blame concupiscence for their wrong choices. Sinning is already second nature to them that they even believe their own lies by now.

Thanks in Advance!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVOPPPRvabM

Thank You, Lord, for saving me from a life of misery by not allowing me to marry a wolf in a sheep's clothing! I thank You in advance for my future Christ-centered spouse who loves You more than he loves himself and his life. In Jesus' Name. Amen!

I'm More Than a Pretty Face

After watching this short clip, there's Daddy God's assurance for me...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4WzymHi0E0

I will always be beautiful in God's eyes... BECAUSE I AM HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER. :D And my future partner will always be the most handsome in His and my eyes. :D

My Undeserved Mercy

I am starting to be inspired to write some short but substantial insights once again while watching EWTN via cable TV. Thank You, Lord, for this timely opportunity and borrowed gift!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpPOlZKX8Ws

God's graces and mercy may be undeserved, but they're for free! Grab them now! :D

Salvatorian Sister

My first search-in more than 10 years ago was with them. I will be forever thankful to God for allowing me to sit beside a religious sister in blue on my first day of masters class in Yuchengco Building. "I Will Sing Forever of Your Love" and the religious sisters (esp. the Sacro Costato Sisters in QC) will always have a special place in my heart, a prelude of angels singing in Heaven....

No more perpetual discernment, Lord! I have chosen the path You want me to take. I have chosen to do Your will, not mine. :D

Blessing in Disguise

Even suffering and pain can be blessings in disguise. Thank You, Lord, for saving me and drawing me out once again from the pits. Christians will be lifted high with You to witness the light of Your glory... someday... one day... :D

Who Am I?

A daughter of God who's striving to follow Him and do good all the days of my life. I am still human... not yet holy... but getting there... someday.

What you do every day determines your character.

On Respect

Respect another person's journey and story... We all have different paths to tread in life even if we're moving towards the same destination... Heaven! :D

New Blog

This blog has been impressed upon me after attending a weekday Mass this week. In spite of my busyness in my work and big move, I have to blog about all my answered prayers. How God answers even the simplest needs of His broken children! Case in point, I was so thirsty this afternoon after purchasing the Catholic Bible my apologist teacher recommended in one of our classes. It was the same title as the first one I purchased after I committed my life to Christ in my first charismatic community eons ago. I walked quite a mile after a brother in Christ stood me up before lunch. It was an unexpected meeting we settled before lunch because he needed my help. We are not close to begin with, but I decided that I will help him with his book project if he can give me a reason bigger than himself on why he wanted to write a book aside from there's a baby along the way. The right answer being to give glory to God. And the answer is already a giveaway. I hate people wasting my time, but that afternoon was no big deal for me as I scheduled my other activities within the area. I crossed the street and attended the 12:15 Mass in the Church where my aunt was married. The name of the Church bears the name of one of the greatest apostles to the Gentiles. A role model for those who want to make a 180-degree turn in their lives. After the Mass, I had to go to the nearest NBS to buy a new Bible because I left mine at home in my hurry to make in on time for the meeting which never transpired. Still, my morning mood was not spoiled because I ate in my favorite fast food resto in the metro. What damped my mood a bit was the long walk amidst the noon sun which had turned my pale skin from light yellow to brown to sticky (ick!). The Holy Spirit guided me as I attended my first and last Liturgical Bible study in the second floor of the Church. I was blessed to meet Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD. I have very high regard for SVD priests not because my uncle is one of them but because Fr. Titus Mananzan (and the other SVD priests I encountered) is also knowledgeable in his faith and has a personal relationship with the Lord.

This blog is all about the positive things happening in my life. No trace of pessimism (or so I'll try). Thank You, Lord, for making me broken yet blessed (got the idea from one of the songs sang in one of my favorite Church inn the east of MM because I have the best confessions there in spite of the distance).

I Become Who I Hang Out With

You become who you hang out with (i.e. in the manner of thinking, speaking, dressing. etc.). Avoid emotional vampires and people who are not grounded in their faith to spare yourself of the stress (distress, the negative kind of stress) in life.
